Pauline Marois -
President, La Fondation des parlementaires québéçois
Having been a member of the Parti québecois for 30 years and sat on the National Assembly for 25 years, Pauline Marois withdrew from political life in March 2006, following her defeat while running for head of the party. She is currently President of the Fondation des parlementaires québécois and sits on various boards of directors.
This past May 12th, Mrs. Marois announced her plan return to the Quebec political scence as a candidate for the leadership of the Parti québécois.
Since her first years in politics, her ascension has been remarkable, be it at the government level, where she piloted the most demanding ministries, or within the party. Pauline Marois was elected – man or woman- who occupied the greatest number of ministerial functions within the history of Quebec. She has also been at the head of the most important ministries: Finance, Education, Health and Social Services, Treasury Counsel.
Pauline Marois is an intellectual and heartfelt woman, mother of four children, who was able to reconcile her family life with the demands of politics. She is embodies the ''conjugation of feminism and femininity''. This meeting is not to be missed!
