Board Directors of Tomorrow (SOLD OUT)
As a young leader, you probably wish to get involved in your community in a meaningful way. Becoming a board director is an option available to you and that is why the JCCM has created a module of training sessions to provide you with the tools to fulfill this essential strategic role in the governance of a not-for-profit, public, or private organization.
This module called "Board Directors of Tomorrow" offers 4 training sessions to help you develop specific competencies and knowledge that will allow you to understand the main challenges and issues associated with governance and the role of a board director. The goals of the module are:
- To understand the structure of a board of directors, the responsibilities of board directors as well as the different steps to play an efficient role ;
- To familiarize yourself with the workings of a board of directors and the different activities board directors have to get involved in (i.e. strategic planning process, succession planning, funding and verification of financial information);
- To gain the knowledge and specific competencies to help the creation of better governance practices within a board of directors.
The module "Board Directors of Tomorrow" is divided in four separate training sessions:

Roles and responsibilities of a board director
Tuesday, March 23, 2010, from 6pm to 9pm
Strategic planning and implementation
Wednesday, April 28, 2010, from 6pm to 9pm
Financial information and internal control
Wednesday, May 26, 2010, from 6pm to 9pm
Leadership and succession management
