Lorraine Pintal's list of accomplishments is remarkable. Theatre director, actress, television director, author, untiring communicator of the cultural phenomenon, this graduate of the Conservatoire d'art dramatique du Québec wears many hats. Since the Spring of 1992, her main role has been at the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, where she is the Artistic and Executive Director.
 When she first started working there, the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde had a $1 800 000 deficit and about 3 000 subcriptions. A huge challenge was awaiting her ! A challenge which she met superbly, however, as the deficit has since then been completely absorbed. Eighteen years later, the theatre has 11 000 subscriptions and welcomes more than 125 000 audience members each season. Moreover, thousands of theatre goers across Québec get the occasion to see two great classic productions every year.
Since 2000, Lorraine Pintal has undertaken the artistic development of the TNM in Europe. The goal of this endeavor is to create and develop relationships with theatre companies that have a similar mission to its own. The TNM thus wishes to continue to affirm its mission by allowing the greatest artists from here and abroad to express themselves and to faciliate the presentation of acclaimed European shows in Québec. The theatre wishes to maintain its openmindedness towards the world and to secure the continuity of its artistic evolution by the free circulation of ideas, artists, and works.
