Created in collaboration with the JCCM, Concertation Montréal and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) de l’Université Laval, the Young Administrators Network (YAN) allows young business people to understand the role of an administrator on a board and to be better prepared to join and contribute on a board of executives.

The training course is geared primarily for non-profit organisations and is given by the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés. Each two-day session, held twice a year in the fall and winter, is made up of 24 participants selected for their skills and abilities, commitment and motivation.

Application submission period : from December 17, 2018 to February 15, 2019

2 days of certified training : March 29 and 30, 2019 from 8am to 6pm

4 training modules: legal, governance, financial resources and strategy

The 4 course subjects

  • Legal: Roles and responsibilities of administrators as well as the current challenges that are being faced by Boards.
  • Governance: Define the notion of governance, the roles of the various committees within the board and discussions on best practices.
  • Finance: Covering resources, annual budget adoption, delegating and approving spending, performance indicators, creating an internal control system and accountability processes, as well as management.
  • Strategy: Overview of the role and responsibility of the Board in regards to the organisations strategy - tools to initiate a strategic reflection.

Prices and informations

If you are selected as a participant, the registration fee of $395 must be paid in a single installment prior to the beginning of the course.

Only completed applications will be accepted.

Maximum of 24 participants.
