The arrival of an event like One Young World (OYW) in Montreal (Tiohtià:ke) represents much more than just an international gathering.

It's a unique opportunity to see a city rich in history and culture transformed into an incubator for innovative ideas. From September 18 to 21, over 2,000 delegates from 190 countries and more than 250 organizations will come together, striving to accelerate their social impact.

Our involvement in this global conference means we can offer 180 young impact entrepreneurs from across the province the opportunity to take part in one of the most important events for young people.

Being a partner also means that the JCCM will have its own space to organize 3 conferences with renowned panelists, who will be able to speak on the key topics of the 2024 Summit, namely: the liberation of indigenous voices, the climate and ecological crisis, artificial intelligence, health and gender inequalities, and sustainable peace.

The day preceding the event will be entirely dedicated to young indigenous leaders. A fitting tribute to these voices, some of which have gone unnoticed for many years and some of which still do.

Finally, our Assistant General Manager, Sarah Kemerer, who is an OYW ambassador following her participation in the 2023 Belfast Summit, sits on the local Advisory Committee. Her role is that of facilitator and advisor.

It's the world's largest youth leadership event. It brings together impact leaders from around the world to tackle the major challenges of our time.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn from over 200 speakers through keynote speeches, Q&A sessions and workshops. This privileged access will enable them to develop their professional network by discussing with world leaders from different sectors such as business, social and humanitarian.

This sharing of knowledge will enable these young up-and-coming professionals to enhance their skills in order to support the social causes they care about.

Thanks to the JCCM's involvement, 180 impact entrepreneurs will have access to an exceptional event. Each person will join a group and attend a day of conferences, which will enable them to create lasting business links with other participants and help them evolve their post-event ecosystem.

By showcasing these talents at OYW, they will have the opportunity to be seen on the world stage, and to meet potential customers, partners and collaborators.
