Why become a member of the JCCM?

As part of a new initiative by the JCCM, we are highlighting our members and volunteers each month. For the month of March, we introduce you to Michèle Beauchamp-Roy, the founder of 'au contraire,' an environmental design studio based in Montreal. The studio specializes in residential interior design, commercial design, and custom furniture design since last year. Enjoy discovering more about them!

Michèle joined the JCCM to be part of a network of young professionals and access training and resources to acquire new skills. She recently took part in the JCCM's YAN (Young Administrators Network) training, a development program that allows participants to learn more about how a board of directors operates.

“I would say that my most memorable moment at JCCM is the Young Administrators Network program, where, in addition to learning about governance, I met many motivated young individuals eager to make a difference. My involvement is just beginning!” Par

Rapid-fire questions!

Are you more of an entrepreneur or an intrapreneur?

🔨 Definitely more of an entrepreneur in recent months as I launched my own interior design practice. Although the entrepreneurial aspect has always been a part of me, sometimes I have to remind myself that it's now 100% of my role and my daily life—for better or worse, haha!

If you could summarize your experience with JCCM in one word, what would it be?

✨ Inspiring!

Who is your favorite Montreal artist?

🎹 Jean-Michel Blais."

Taking a closer look at the RJA

Showcased by the JCCM and Concertation Montréal, in collaboration with the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) at Laval University, the Young Administrators Network program enables young business professionals to understand the role of a board director, prepare for board membership, or enhance their contributions within a board of directors.

This training program primarily focuses on non-profit organizations (NPOs). Each cohort, with two cohorts per year, consists of around twenty participants selected for their skills, dedication, and motivation.
