As Communications and Marketing Coordinator for the Scouts Canada Association, Cassandre puts her expertise to work for an organization committed to youth. Her career path, at the intersection of communications, politics, and public affairs, reflects a desire to support initiatives that contribute tangibly to community development and well-being.

Within the JCCM, she is also involved as a volunteer on the marketing and content creation committee, helping to promote the community's initiatives and voices.

Using communications to drive social impact

What Cassandre finds particularly exciting about her work is the opportunity to contribute to an organization driven by deeply committed individuals.

Working to support thousands of volunteers who are dedicated to Canadian youth is a great source of motivation for her. She particularly appreciates the inclusive approach of the Scouting movement, which aims to help every young person find their place and thrive.

She also highlights the innovative nature of the organization, which is always open to new ideas and ways of doing things that improve its impact.

Through her involvement with the JCCM, Cassandre has also found a space for learning and development.

"I'm someone who always loves learning new things, and the JCCM allows me to develop even more while being part of a community that lets me discover new resources and meet other young professionals who also want to excel. "

Inspiring female role models

Cassandre has had the opportunity to work with several inspiring women who have influenced her professional career. She mentions Geneviève Beyries, her first manager at the Carrefour de ressources en interculturel du Centre-Sud, who inspired her with her human approach and her ability to accomplish a lot with limited resources.

Her master's supervisor, Mireille Paquet, also played an important role in her development. She showed her that it is possible to combine academic rigor, excellence, and a sense of community while cultivating an inclusive and caring approach.

Finding your community

Cassandre offers young professional women in Montreal who want to advance their careers a simple but powerful piece of advice: seize opportunities and surround yourself with a community.

Whether it's a professional organization, a community group, or a sports activity, she believes that getting involved in our communities helps us create benchmarks and promotes true fulfillment.

A collective struggle

According to her, one of the biggest challenges for women today remains the ongoing fight for their rights.

The feeling that achievements are never fully guaranteed reminds us of the importance of remaining mobilized and united.

For Cassandre, the community still plays an essential role here: it allows us to support each other, to remember that we are never alone, and to fully claim our place.

Entrepreneurship without compromising values

Among the Montreal companies run by women that she admires, Cassandre cites Pony Montréal.

She particularly appreciates the founder's transparency and authenticity, as well as her ability to address important issues with openness, joy, and kindness.

For Cassandre, this company is an inspiring example of entrepreneurial success that remains true to its values.

Daring to explore and evolve

Cassandre says she is particularly proud to have had the opportunity to work in several different environments and to continue exploring new skills.

This constant curiosity allows her to never take things for granted and to pursue her personal and professional development.

A piece of advice she received during her master's degree marked a turning point in her career thinking. Her supervisor reminded her that succeeding in one field does not necessarily mean that it is the right path to follow for an entire career.

This perspective gave her the freedom to question a path that seemed natural, allowing her to think more deeply about what really motivated her.

Stepping outside her comfort zone

By stepping outside her comfort zone, Cassandre has learned that she is often capable of more than she thinks. For her, it is precisely these moments of exploration and the unknown that lead to the most meaningful learning experiences.

Anchors and inspirations

In Montreal, Cassandre particularly enjoys recharging her batteries and working at Vivante Café, a cozy space that recently opened near her home, where community spirit is central.

Among her recent discoveries, she recommends the book Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid, as well as Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast.

On a daily basis, a simple habit helps her stay grounded: taking a moment to recognize and appreciate what she has.
